Alternative for radiometric density measurement? Eliminate the hazard altogether!
If we have learned one thing from the lost (and later found) radioactive capsule, is that the best way to prevent these type of hazardous situations is to eliminate the hazard altogether.

In the attached PDF the density the Control solution is described for a Vertical thickener discharge, 1x3” SPC.
Control the density in a Vertical thickener discharge
Success story: Accuracy of Arenal Ultrasonic vs Radio Active Measurement Application: Dredging in a hydropower plant in France
Here are the results of the comparison of Arenal’s ultrasonic density measurement vs radioactive density measurement in a live application. (Dredging application at a hydro powerplant in France). The Arenal system was placed over a 100 meter away from the radioactive sensor. You see this delay in the graph. Also note that this was a '2nd' generation system. Our ‘3rd’ generation system is even more accurate.
The graph shows how dynamic and accurate the Arenal ultrasonic density measurement is.
Unique mass flow meter for free with slurry density analyser
Arenal introduces a new slurry mass flow meter for abrasive slurries that can monitor both low and very high densities. At an average price of 30% less than other measurement technologies, the meter offers higher accuracy and requires less maintenance. How is the mass flow meter constructed and does it obtain its unique properties?
Arenal on Europort Rotterdam Exhibition
STI is our exclusive worldwide distributor for dredging and tunneling applications. You can meet us at booth 1616 at the Europort Exhibition next week in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
The STI solution for Slurry Density and Slurry Massflow Monitoring applications are now successfully introduced and firmly evaluated in the dredging industry. Projects at IJburg 2 and Markerdijk (Netherlands) are running very well without the need of yearly recalibration. Our latest project in Kitimat (Canada) in under commissioning phase now.
